By deep learning, we refer to the learning experience by which the learner is engaged at the higher-order thinking skills of analysing, evaluate and create as described by Benjamin Bloom in the Bloom Taxonomy.

In addition, it is guided by the ability of the teacher to explore previous understanding, experience and exposure of the learner. We say there is deep learning “when the students become the teachers of their own learning” as stated by Prof John Hattie.

Participants will be taught:

  • Learning by considering different perspectives
  • Learning by assessing evidence
  • Learning by solving non-routine problems
  • Learning by understanding the deep structure
