Leadership is an innate characteristic that features in most animal social structures. Leaders help the majority to adapt to an ever-changing world. Schools can nurture leadership and personal development, but they can also suppress it intentionally or subconsciously through acts that may seem well intentioned.
In this programme we seek to blend activities and materials that enable participants to understand and apply theories and definitions of leadership and provide a space to explore where leadership development opportunities might exist, both for themselves and their students.
Through this course, participants will;
- Plan projects, lessons and challenges that promote leadership in learning
- Relate leadership scenarios in school to real-world challenges
- Understand the issues surrounding enabling students to lead meaningfully
- Collaborate to plan and lead professional development through reflective practice.
