Victoria Thomas

Victoria is a filmmaker based in the UK with a filmography that spans across both short and long form content across fiction and documentary which have screened at festivals internationally, broadcast on TV and garnered awards and nominations including BAFTA Scotland. Her film discovery app, which she founded in response to the difficulties faced by independent filmmakers to get their films to audiences won the first ever Canon Innovation award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival.

 

Blessing Omakwu

Policy Consultant/Blogger, www.blessingomakwu.com

Blessing Omakwu, Esq. works as a Policy Consultant. She has completed projects for The Presidency, The Nigerian Permanent Mission to the UN, The National Planning Commission, The National Human Rights Commission and UNDP Nigeria. She also runs a blog where she explores the intersection of gender equality with public policy, popular culture, religion and literature. Her global vision for change is 'A world where gender equality is achieved and women’s rights are upheld'. 

Dr. Balogun Israel Adekunle

Israel is a pioneering Nigerian medical doctor and disability advocate, honored as the first Nigerian to win the Global Study UK Award by the British Council.

He holds two master’s degrees: public health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and another in International Comparative Disability Law and Policy from the University of Galway. He led the first Disability Audit in a Humanitarian setting for the British Government's Northeast Transition to Development Initiative.

Femi Balogun

Femi is a seasoned researcher and impact expert specializing in youth development interventions across Nigeria, Kenya, Senegal, and Ghana.

With a decade of experience, he has spearheaded projects in job creation, employability, social innovation, and entrepreneurship. He is recognized for his contributions to evidence-based policy making and partnership building. He holds master's degrees from King's College London and the University of Lagos, with a bachelor's degree from Covenant University.

Morayo Akande

Morayo started out as an actor and is now a writer with ambitions to direct. Her debut short film, tense period drama 1745 – in which she also starred - was funded by the Scottish Film Talent Network via Creative Scotland and BFI.NETWORK. Morayo has been nominated for the 'Best Writer Award' at the Underwire Film Festival 2017, she is one of the 17 participants selected for the BFI London Film Festival Talent Lab Network. 

Opubo Braide

Opubo Braide is a Pianist, Music producer and Sound Engineer. 

He has a BSc. Maths and Statistics / Computer science (University of Calabar), a Diploma in Sound Production (SAE INSTITUTE Cape town), a Diploma in Computer science (University of Calabar), a certificate in Music business  and a degree in Sound Production (SAE INSTITUTE Cape town).

Early in his career, he composed soundtracks for Nigerian television shows and our popular Nigerian “Nollywood” movies.
