Thanks to you Joshua Joseph, 2018 British Council Business Acceleration Bootcamp participant, and social entrepreneur, farmers in Nigeria are being helped with their productivity issues.
Today Joshua Joseph is the CEO of Josult Oil Processing Company, thanks to his selection for the 2018 British Council Business Acceleration Bootcamp.
His new company offers an efficient, easy and stress-free method of extracting palm oil for smallholder farmers and also market the products for the farmers.
“We also offer the best quality palm oil produced in a hygienic environment and packaged in a classical way to suit consumers’ need at the best-valued price in plastics and sachets,” he says.
The Bootcamp was the start of something big for Joshua. His was among the 10 startups that won the Business Acceleration Investment Grant of N250,000 each.
“It was a three-day business mentorship and training programme that make available opportunities for networking, learning and knowledge sharing with mentors and other entrepreneurs. The training focused on helping startups identify assumptions, testing and creating MVPs and also integrating social impact into new businesses,” he says.
He was able to launch his branded palm oil in May 2018 after the training. “Currently, we have helped over 45 Smallholder Farmers increase their profit margin by selling through our brand and I am also able to train and guide other startups to launch their products and businesses through the creation of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs),” he says.
A few among Joshua’s several achievements are Alumni of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme, Pioneer Award winner Selfless4Africa Emerging Leaders Award and one of the Pioneer Winners of the TKC-3FM Investor Pitch, Ghana. He is also a member of the Global Alliance for Youth Leaders and an Alumni of the President Obama's Initiative Young African Leaders’ Initiative (YALI).
